Dirt is free but you probably don't want any; data transfer and server space are not free they cost money, so unlimited amounts of either are simply not available. You will not get the 300 GB of server space and 3000 GB of data transfer promised for just $5.00 a month, unless you host air on your site and use almost none of the server's processing power. Monthly costs vary from $5.95 to $150 depending on the individual hosting plan selected. However, there is one thing that all of our high availability hosting plans provide and that is unfettered processing power. For any website that is mission critical and requires near 100% availability, it's processing power that makes the difference. These hosting plans provide on demand bandwidth - no hidden CPU limitations. There is really only one situation that can cause issues on our systems and that is poorly written web applications. Security and performance issues that are a result of poor third party applications are beyond our control, and for that matter, any responsible hosting provider. Please make sure any web applications you install have a good reputation with regards to security, performance and support. Our high availability hosting plans are affordable and provide the most critical resource needed by any website - processing power. The VHS and Hsphere Hosting Plans start at just $10 per month. In addition these plans are easy to scale, so if your site needs increases in terms of space, data transfer and processing power, it's a matter of a few minutes to upgrade to a different plan. There are situations were a website's requirements increase almost exponentially and a dedicated high availability solution is needed. This is, of course, a nice problem to have since it normally means the site has reached a new level of success and the investment required is now within range. Moving a site from the VHS or HSphere clustered high availability environment to a dedicated solution is usually a 2-4 day process; but most times plenty of warning is issued due to the site's continued increasing requirements. The cPanel Failover Hosting Plans provide failover, data redundancy and load balancing across multiple server configurations (clustered). If a server goes down failover software will route mirrored files to the next available server keeping a site online until the downed server is repaired. When a database server goes down site visitors will see a notice that there are temporary technical issues that should be repaired soon. This lets the visitor know that the site is still a viable operation and has not disappeared somewhere into deep cyberspace. The cPanel Failover plans are an excellent choice for websites that want maximum uptime and the advantages of a clustered environment. However, they do not offer the advantages of ondemand services as with the VHS or HSphere systems mentioned above. These plans are an excellent choice for sites that are not using heavy resources such as a resource hungry CMS (Content Mangement System - and most are heavy resources users); a better choice for dynamically driven CMS sites would be the VHS or Hsphere plans. Sites that use MySQL databases under 25 MB in size (which is really quite large) are well suited to the cPanel Failover Hosting Plans. Next we have the LiteSpeed Hosting Plans with cPanel.
